To view your health data in more than one Android app, first understand how each record travels. This guide follows it from the app that creates it through Health Connect to the app that reads it, with a concrete check at each stage.

Check permissions at both ends
Health Connect lets you manage each app's access by data type. A source app needs write access to contribute a record; a receiving app needs read access to retrieve it. Review the categories you actually want to share.
- Open Health Connect and find app permissions.
- Check the source app's write permission for your chosen metric.
- Check the receiving app's read permission for the same metric.
Verify one identifiable record
Choose a recent record you can recognize by date and time. Find it in the source app, then in Health Connect, then in the receiving app. In Health Connect, open Data and access, choose the category and data type, and inspect all entries. Note which app wrote the record. If it disappears at one stage, investigate that connection first. Menu names can vary between versions.
- Missing from the source app: check the device and its sync first.
- Present in the source but absent from Health Connect: check sharing settings and write permission.
- Present in Health Connect but absent from the destination: check read permission and support for that data type.
Check for duplicates before interpreting a total
A watch and a phone may both write steps for the same period. Health Connect can prioritize sources when records conflict, while the destination app may combine them differently. Inspect an individual entry and source priority before adding totals or disabling connections. Record any change so you can undo it.
Review access when you change apps
When you stop using an app, consider whether it still needs access. Revoking permissions and deleting records are different actions: removing access does not itself erase stored Health Connect data. Also check the receiving app's privacy policy.
